    Epipremnum aureum Neon Joy

This choice variegated climbing houseplant has been super hard to find—you might even call it rare. We’ve been working with it for a while now, and we’re thrilled to finally have enough to do some sales tests. While Neon Joy has proven to be just as easy to grow as other varieties, it is a slower grower. Its bright neon-golden-yellow leaves are variegated with green edges. Wondering how it’s different than other varieties?

    •      Global Green Pothos: Neon Joy has smaller leaves and the centers are bright golden-yellow rather than medium green.
    •      Neon Pothos: Neon Joy has smaller leaves and almost every leaf has a green margin.
    •          Lemon Meringue Pothos: Neon Joy has smaller leaves and the centers are bright golden-yellow, rather than margins.
    •          Champs Élysées Pothos: Neon Joy has smaller leaves, green edges, and lacks the cresting on the undersides of its leaves.

To keep this variegated vining houseplant happiest, grow it in medium to bright indoor light, ideally, within about 3 feet of an unobstructed east- or west-facing window (or the equivalent if you grow under artificial lights). It can tolerate lower light, but it won’t grow as quickly and the variegation may fade in color. Water Neon Joy as the top quarter to half of the potting mix dries to the touch if you take it out of its Wick & Grow self-watering system. Average household temperatures and humidity levels are just fine for this low-maintenance climbing houseplant.
